HERE WE ARE...STILL ALIVE!!

Let's go back to the story left behind, one week ago
The Village of Olimbo....on the coast, where Ugo wanted to stop because on the map there was a nice beach (more on the side stories)...

After a short assessment we decided to move further north....to the Farol exactly on Cabo del Gado

though the trip to reach the place was rather adventure....

su un percorso non proprio facile

finally at the Farol....
the village of fishermen and the surroundings....

about the people of the Farol...here is a sample (read more on the side stories)

After the Farol back to south...still along the coast
Here heading to Pangane....whow and Ugo dreams about his lodge on the coast

poi Ugo...che sogna...e sogna
and he starts to think that it might become true.....

than from here we move to Pangane point......but this is another story...and now we must continue our trip.....
take this to start and wait for the next....

The North - El Norte

19 july: Off we go toward the border...in reality it is the one without bridge..here are only small boats tied in three one to the other, crossing only during high tide at 4.00 p.m. And just for USD 200 (starting from 400)!!!
The new flag is there...but we want the bridge thus we return to North, than to West (up to Masisa) and than finally to South

Un passaggio ben gradito soprattutto da Shakila
A very appreciated lifti especially by Shakila
 la strada prima del ponte...

the road before the bridge

E alla guida un Chamaeleo dilepis
At the steering wheel a Chamaeleon
Il Ponte!!!!!
The bridge!!
El Puente!!!
Daraja!!!

The road passed into Mozambique (at the end of the funds)

Along the whole trip up to Mueda (4 hours), intense traffic: 6 vehicles in 150 Km, to end up at Mocimboa de Praia after other 90 Km of tarmark

No, è una mangusta.

Days are passing and many are the stories to tell. As a summary catch the story from the pictures.

At Mtwara camping site...rather unpleasant: to S.: making a borsetta is said when a "taxidermic" preparation is made out of a freshly splashed Puff adder, victim of road accident.

From Mtwara to Ruvula, Mzasi Marine Park, it seem to be one of the last villages in Tanzania before the border. Two days stop, enjoying the sea and the peaceful site.

E mentre Penelope ricama le lenzuola....while Penelope emobroids the bed sheet.....

Ugo torna dalla pesca, più che vittorioso...Ugo comes back from fishing rather succesfull

Ma il pesce non entra nella padella..but the samaki does not enter into the pot

Quest'altro non entra neanche nella griglia...and this does not even enter the grid!!

ma ne risultano comunque buone cene ...the results are anyway good dinners!!

At the end of the day...an interesting light!

MTWARA.....THE SOUTHERN BORDER

Finally at Mtwara...closer and closer to the Unknown!!
We are rather late on our time table....but still we need to see, and it is possible that the unknown will wait for another couple of days.
In fondo...No Hurry in Africa!

Met with Leo, giovanotto de Roma, travelling by pubblic transport. Left Cape town three months ago. He wishes to reach Rome within the next six months. Safari Njema!!
All the way to Mtwara from Kilwa noticeably unpopulated. Road partially unpaved at time, but yet very little traffic and all in all pleasant.
Vervet and Yellow Baboons sometime on the side of the road, sharing the woodland of deciduous unnamed trees, with unlucky Puff Adder. This last one is now with us. Questa notte sarà fatta borsetta!

Today special greetings to the heros in Porta Romana but especially the one in Baghdad.
